There have been a few hoaxes and outright scams in the Color Computer community over the years. Some involve businesses that took money and never shipped products, either never shipping a product or, sometmies, after existing for some time.

This page will try to document some of the more notable instances. The use of the word "scam" may be a bit too strong, but we can change it later when we think of somethign more appropriate.
