Rice Cooker White
Just bought rice cooker. Want to make white rice. What kind should I buy?
I want to make white rice with that slightly sticky consistency. Do I need a special kind of rice. Is there a special way to cook it?
I use Kokuho Rose and Nishiki brands rice. Like above poster, I do rinse my rice with cold water first. I also use a rice cooker. I put in the rice and enough water to cover with about 1/2" water above the rice (about the length of your finger tip). Then hit the cook button on your rice cooker. Most rice cookers do not burn rice and will turn themselves off to warm when done (at least mine does). Whatever you do, do not use instant rice like Uncle Ben's or Minute rice.
